Female Fighting Legends: Luna Vachon
This past June we were fortunate enough to be involved with a live wrestling show that took place at Cauliflower Alley Club’s 43rd Annual Reunion in Las Vegas. The show was promoted by Pro Wrestling Revolution and as a CAC Board Member, it was my job to make sure things ran smooth and of course to oversee the ChickFight match on the show.
Cauliflower Alley Club is a wonderful group of people and I can’t say enough about what a great organization it is. The only downside to CAC is the fact the reunions only take place once a year. During these reunions, you never know who you will meet next and it was a huge thrill for me this year as I had the opportunity to meet and work with Luna Vachon.
Luna Vachon was one of the few female wrestlers I remember really loving to watch as a kid. I remember watching her and being blown away. Luna was unlike anything I had seen before and she had the same affect on me as watching guys like the Missing Link.
Needless to say, I was excited when Gabriel Ramirez (owner of Pro Wrestling Revolution) approached me during the tryouts for the show and said there was a chance of getting Luna involved in some way. After a quick glance at what we had for a line-up so far, the choice was obvious. We wanted Luna to manage the team of former WWE Superstar, Gangrel and Billy Blade.
Luna was just one of several legends that were involved on the show that night, but working with her was deffinately a high point of the week’s events in my eyes.
Our own infamous photographer extraordinaire, Mike Lano sent over this picture of Luna posing with Strongman Jon Andersen and you can see, she still looks as good as ever.
Now just to book that Luna Vachon vs. Cheerleader Melissa Streetfight on an upcoming ChickFight show…. hmmmmm
